Islam and wedding gowns?
Can I get those of you who are interested to vote on this? I'm going to be getting my dress on Monday and can't decide which one I want to get. Can you please go to this link flikr.com photos and tell me which number you think would look best? And I know this already, but I want muslims to tell me what Islam says about weddings and what to wear? I have been to weddings in Pakistan and they wore these very beautiful bright colored dresses, some purple, red, orange, pink. All very beautiful. Is this part of the Indian culture left over or is this how it should be done? I personally don't like those hats because most of them look silly. But what is it about long gowns? can't they be little shorter so girl wearing them can walk on her own? whose idea was it to have long gown like that? Why do I like voluminous wedding gowns?
I'd really like some answers, as this is seems to be a unique issue and I'd just like to see one other person who shares this interest. I'm a gay male, and I don't know why, but I love wearing bridal gowns, especially large ones with lots of tulle and underskirts. There's just something about them that I love. I love looking at pictures of them, and videos of the brides struggling down the aisle in these huge dresses. I'm not looking for answers, I'm looking for someone who shares this obsession.

Why do people think white wedding gowns signify virginity?
Why do people think a white wedding dress signifies purity, virginity, etc.? I thought that the first white wedding dress, worn by Queen Victoria, was chosen for political reasons. I can't remember where I heard this but I thought she chose not to dye her dress because of the economic hardships in England during that time and she wanted to show her awareness and sensitivity to public suffering. Are they both right?

LDS: My niece asked to borrow my wedding gown;and I found out later she'd worn one of my old Temple gowns.?
Both were in storage side by side . Afterwards seeing her pictures, my daughter realized she'd worn the wrong gown. I said it did not matter but it was a Catholic ceremony. Does it make a difference? It is a pretty dress nonetheless. oli You wear several in the course of a lifetime the one I have now I sewd to accomodate my whlchair use but with matrnity,, weight gain or loss you might have a few particularly if you sew your own
